We have a number of high-quality natural fibre garments in our knitwear collection, but the luxury of Cashmere is arguably unrivalled within the industry.

Originating from the Kashmir goat, Cashmere is actually a hair and not wool. The hair keeps the animals warm in the harshest temperatures, which can be as low as -40 degrees. This means that cashmere, whilst light and soft, is one of the warmest natural fibres, so if you are looking for warmth in the colder seasons whilst still having a luxurious finish, cashmere is the perfect choice.

As with many natural fibres, Cashmere of any quality is prone to pilling. This is not an indication of a low-quality garment,  it is merely loose fibres working their way out of the garment.

Cashmere is a delicate fabric, though, in reality, it is far more durable than it appears. Cashmere garments will require special attention. As with many natural fibres, Cashmere of any quality is prone to pilling. This is not an indication of a low-quality garment, it is merely loose fibres working their way out of the garment. Cashmere combs, such as this one, are specially designed to remove pills whilst not destroying the fabric. The fabric will get better with age if it is cared for well, like a good leather.

Cashmere is classed by ply or gauge. 2 ply will also see you through a brisk spring/summer. If it’s a winter knit you’re looking for, get a higher ply such as 3 ply.
If you’re keen on cashmere but not on the high price, opt for a silk blend. The two luxurious fabrics blend well together and are lower in price than pure cashmere. You can shop our luxury silk and cashmere collection here.
