CHEF/FRYER FISH AND CHIP SHOP - LIVE IN
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Chef/Fryer at The House of Bruar in our prestigious Fish and Chip Shop on a permanent basis. Our Chef will work alongside other members of the food preparation team and Management Team in our Fish and Chip Shop.

If you enjoy working with fine foods and apply great attention to detail, we would love to hear from you. Ideally, the candidates will have a minimum of 1 year's experience operating/managing a commercial fish fryer with the confidence to deliver consistent volumes during the busy season.

Key responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food daily whilst following all guidelines for food hygiene and health and safety, legally and by The House of Bruar’s own policies.
  • Adhere to health and safety policy and procedures, identify hazards and undertake appropriate risk assessments as required.
  • Quality control of all food that leaves the kitchen.
  • Monitoring stock take and stock rotation, whilst reducing wastage.
  • Take full responsibility for the cleaning of the kitchen.
  • Food cooking (fish, chips and other menu items) and preparation (fish cutting, batter making, etc).
  • Oil management.
  • Assisting with stock control, including stock rotation and ordering.
  • Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
  • Working closely with the Management team on all food related issues.
  • Monitoring and guiding staff while working in the kitchen.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times in conjunction with The House of Bruar’s guidelines.
