Nestled among the rolling hills and sweeping valleys of rural Perthshire, The House of Bruar is a unique shopping destination that stands at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. As a family-owned, independent store, Bruar has a unique identity and culture that fosters and rewards excellence in every area. We're looking for a passionate and driven individual to rise to the challenge of managing our Menswear and Knitwear departments.

In this varied and demanding role you will be responsible for two of our most important flagship departments. Our Knitwear Hall is home to the largest selection of cashmere in the UK, and our 20,000 square foot Menswear department features over 50 prestigious brands as well as a range of exclusive products created by our in-house design team. A world away from your average High Street retailer, The House of Bruar offers unique opportunities along with a unique set of challenges.

We're looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual with the passion and drive to maintain our high standards and deliver the ultimate shopping experience to our customers.

Who We Need
Exceptional leadership skills, a commercial mindset and a strong sense of visual flair in merchandising are just a few of the attributes that this position requires. In addition to a proven track record in effective management, we also look for someone who can meet and exceed targets, motivate colleagues and help to create a positive working environment for both staff and customers to ensure that The House of Bruar remains an exciting and engaging place to work and to visit.

Your duties will involve three key areas:
  • Team management - delegating tasks, coaching your colleagues and providing training to ensure that our standards of customer service continue to rise.
  • Sales floor management - delivering inspiring window and store displays to capture the imagination of our customers, dealing with customer queries, complaints and returns in a professional manner and communicating with the General Manager to identify and resolve urgent matters.
  • Stock management - liaising with buyers and our warehouse team to manage stock movements effectively.

If you feel you have the drive and ambition to assist our team in providing a luxury shopping experience set against the idyllic backdrop of rural Scotland, contact us today. This is the perfect opportunity to build on your past achievements and develop your career in a unique retail environment without equal in the UK.

In return you'll receive a competitive salary, generous holidays, a rewarding work/life balance and the guidance and support of our experienced senior management team. Our Highland home is a key tourist destination in Scotland, and you will soon see why - with plenty to see and do throughout the area, your leisure time can be just as full and varied as your work.

So if you want to join a vibrant and dynamic team delivering the very best in customer service to a varied yet loyal customer base, please do get in touch - we'd love to hear from you!

Please apply by email to Beverly McKenzie, Human Resources Manager on or in writing to The House of Bruar by Blair Atholl, Perthshire PH18 5TW, enclosing a copy of your CV and covering letter.
