SEAMSTRESS

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Seamstress to assist us in the pursuit of excellence in customer service that we strive towards at The House of Bruar.

The House of Bruar is Scotland’s premier independent country fashion retailer, bringing together an impressive collection of traditional Tweeds and cashmere garments with the very latest in rural style.

This position will require you to work with various different stakeholders including Customers, Department Managers and Retail and Mail Order Customer Service Advisors. If you enjoy working with luxury textiles and Homewares we would like to hear from you.
This position offers flexible working hours and salary will be dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repairs of clothing purchased by our customers.
  • Alterations, including shortening of hems, sleeves, trousers and coats.
  • Sewing, including hand sewing and machine sewing.
  • Altering The House of Bruar pleated skirts for employees.
  • Altering soft furnishings.
  • Building relationships with customers by delivering exceptional customer service.

What we are looking for:
  • An alterations specialist to adjust the fit of completed garments.
  • Highly organised and collaborative, working with a wide range of colleagues.
  • Ensure the customer service you provide is of the highest standards at all times.
  • Support the Team in achieving company sales targets and operational goals.
  • Be a role model for The House of Bruar brand with our personal presentation standards.

Who we need:
  • A high level of experience in alterations and repairs by hand and by sewing machine.
  • Polite, friendly and approachable manner.
  • Organised and methodical worker.
  • Ability to remain calm and cope well with a busy schedule.
  • Ability to work independently as part of a wider team.

Previous experience is essential and you must possess a can-do attitude and a genuine interest in delivering excellent service.
