Garter flashes are a traditional and practical element of Highland dress. Worn around the calf on top of the kilt hose, they act as garters to keep long socks securely in place, with the top of the sock folded neatly down over the elastic to reveal the tartan flash on the outside of the leg. Available in a range of clan tartans, these flashes allow you to wear your family allegiance as part of a fully coordinated Highland outfit. The premium fabric has a neat finish, and the elastic banding gives a comfortable, adjustable fit. Sold as a pair, one for each leg.

About Scottish Tartan
Synonymous with Scotland, tartan is a twill weave fabric that features a vibrant pattern of interlacing stripes. Traditionally made with wool, it dates back to before the Romans, later becoming synonymous with Scottish clans and banned as the British Government fought the Jacobite rebellion.
