About the Artist

Owen Williams has spent more than 30 years painting sporting landscapes, becoming one of the country’s leading watercolour artists. As a keen shot and fisherman, he’s drawn to those brief moments when shifting light reveals a mood or atmosphere that feels true to the connection between people and the natural world.

Watercolour can be a demanding medium, but for Owen it’s the perfect way to express these scenes. It gives him the softness and freedom he needs for skies, water, mist and the faint glow of distant landscapes.

He puts it simply: although watercolour can be unpredictable, with experience it becomes a partner. Its natural flow brings subtle blends and gentle transitions that add their own quiet magic.
