About the artist:
Mark was born in Glasgow in 1962- studied at Edinburgh University then held a variety of positions in the commercial sector. After recovering from a serious illness Mark was using his latent interest in art and photography to help build up his confidence again. This has led to him being fully professional as an artist now since 2002.
He paints in Oils, Acrylics and Watercolour. He teaches Art workshops in Nairn, St Andrews and on cruise ships from the Fred Olsen Line. Later this year he will lead Art Group holidays for Flavours Holiday to Italy and Spain.
Exhibitions have been in Galleries in various parts of Scotland, England and has commissions in collections abroad.
Recent Projects include commissions for the Links Trust in St Andrews and a series of paintings for the Radiology Unit treatment rooms in Rinjsate Hospital Arnhem Holland.
Marks main influences have been from the Impressionist era and the Scottish Colourists.
