Product description
Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, Banffshire, started in 1892. Their whisky making process is dedicated to maintaining their five rare crafts, including growning their own barley and using the original 1929 malting floors, allowing the unique characteristics to be found in their award winning whisky. The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old is initially matured in American Oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, and finished in Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks. After being brought together to harmonise the distinctive character from different wood types can be found. Smooth and mellow with nutty sweetness, cinnamon spiciness and a layer of sherry. Bottled at 40% abv.
