Light and creamy with a faint hint of lemon and soft curd texture, Crowdie is the cheese that started the Dairy from the family bathtub. Thought to have Viking origins and an evolution of production through ladies’ stockings and pillowcases, it has graduated to hang in muslin and plastic sacks.
This traditional cheese of the Highland croft has become a versatile culinary gem – delicious on an oatcake, a pancake, or hot scones with jam, fabulous in pate, savoury and sweet cheesecakes and on its own with fruit and honey.

We pride ourselves on the freshness of our produce, so all Food Hall items are sent by a 24 hour delivery service (by Parcel Force Next Day) at a cost of £9.95. Please place your order before 11am Sunday – Wednesday. Orders will then be despatched the next working day. Deliveries are made Tuesday-Friday, so orders placed on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be despatched on the following Monday. Available to UK customers only.
