About the Artist
Raised in Devon, James Doran-Webb learned the foundations of his trade working in his parent s antique restoration business, quickly progressing into a fully-fledged cabinet maker by his late teens. He discovered the possibilities of driftwood as a medium in 2005, when he toyed with the idea of creating a range of driftwood furniture, however he quickly found that the natural, organic shapes of the wood lent themselves more to sculpture, and since then he hasn t looked back.

With commissions flooding in from all over the world and a prestigious exhibit at the Chelsea Flower Show each year - where he won the Director General s Award for the best trade stand in 2013 - James sculptures are finding an appreciative international audience thanks to their unmistakeable verve and vitality.
