Nicola Kevane lives in North Yorkshire with her family and an assortment of animals. As an artist, her subjects include local wildlife, farm animals and country sports, each rendered in her distinctively free and expressive style. She has a particular fascination with working animals and the bonds they form with those who own them, believing that the shared purpose of work helps lay bare the nature of the relationship between man and beast.

Working in acrylics and ink on canvas board, she has developed a unique style that helps her capture the essential vitality and dynamism of her subjects, as well as the expressive stillness of animals in repose.
