Crovie Fishing Village, Aberdeenshire: Famous for being isolated and picturesque, the former fishing village of Crovie is built on a remarkably narrow ledge at the base of 200-foot cliffs, the drama of this ledge captured here in Anderson’s work.

Loch Shiel, Glenfinnan: Found in the northwest Highlands of Scotland, Loch Sheil is a stunning fresh water loch situated right across from the Glenfinnan viaduct. It is pictured here through one of the archways of the famous viaduct.

Pink House, Highlands: This house is an abandoned, unfinished Victorian-style shell on the shores of Loch Glass. Built in the early 1980s without planning permission, it was never inhabited and features fake painted windows to protect the interior from vandals.

Three Sisters, Glencoe: This piece depicts three towering, steeply-sided mountain ridges that form the iconic northern face of the Bidean nam Bian massif. The Three Sisters offer world-renowned views throughout the year.

Frances Anderson is a Scottish landscape photographer and artist living in Edinburgh. Once a press photographer, Anderson has travelled to Eastern Europe to document life in remote Moldova and helped curate exhibitions for British war photographer Don McCullin. Now, Anderson’s photography focuses on the timeless beauty of Scotland’s landscapes, and is passionate about capturing the ever changing ethereal nature of her home country.
